WHAT FOR: Interactive application for HD broadcasting
WHEN: 2008/2009
WHAT THEY WANTED: Just after the official launch of HD broadcasting in Brazil in 2008, Globo TV wanted to offer interactive applications embedded in its HD signal for set top boxes and mobile devices, in order to enhance the company's crossmedia projects. It was a pioneer project in a brazilian general TV company, which involved a lot of research to design a model aesthetically and functionally suitable for the HD standards there. It was a multidisciplinary project, involving engineers, programers, developers and designers, and our purpose was not only to design that application, but also to create a set of parameters for the new ones to come afterwards. My specific role was to design the user interface personalized to the concerned soap-opera, determine a navigation model and create the company bug to indicate the interactive content availability to the public.
